Anquan Boldin is excited with the premise of becoming a free agent and deciding his own destiny somewhat. He has only had one meeting during this free agency period, and it was with the Washington Redskins.

Boldin left Washington without a contract, but that is seemingly fine with him. He recently expressed that he is happy waiting to find the right fit by stating, "It's the first time in 13 years I've been a free agent, so I get to pick where I want to go now. I'm definitely going to take my time and make the best decision for me and my family."

NFL teams may be waiting until after the NFL draft before they spend any capital on Boldin, as the veteran wide receiver has not been as dominant as he normally is in these last few seasons. Boldin was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, where he was one of their top receivers for eight seasons.

The Cardinals would trade him to the Baltimore Ravens for a third and fourth round pick, which would turn out to be ironically bittersweet. Boldin would win a Super Bowl with the Ravens before he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers a month after defeating them.

Boldin left to spend the twilight of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the 49ers for three seasons, with each one disappointing in their own right. Boldin's performance on the field, however, remained steady.

The only disappointing factor about Boldin's performance is that over his three seasons with the 49ers, he only recorded 16 touchdowns. Boldin still remains one of the most productive 30-year-old players in the NFL and still has the ability to gain separation from defenders. During the 2015 NFL season, he recorded 13 starts and 69 receptions, averaged 11.4 yards per carry, and hauled in four touchdowns, which is pretty impressive for a veteran his age.

Throughout his career, Boldin has amassed 1,009 receptions, 12,195 yards, 13.1 yards per catch and an impressive 74 touchdowns. Even if Boldin's statements are how he truly feels, he still wants to play football during the 2016 season, so choosing his next landing spot should likely be done sooner rather than later.
