Veteran running back Chris Johnson spent the majority of his time with the Arizona Cardinals during the 2015 NFL Season. He had a stellar season before rookie running back David Johnson stole some of his carries. CJ2K was utilized less and less as the season went on, but he still showed a lot of important traits that a lead back would have and still would make an excellent addition to any running back committee.

Johnson was added to the Cardinals after they had to deal with the injury prone Andre Ellington during the 2014 NFL season. It should be important to note that the Dolphins did miss out on C.J. Anderson fairly recently, as the Denver Broncos brought him back to the team. The Dolphins were already talking about Anderson being their main running back for 2016, and they are now back to square one.

Miami lost their primary starter in Lamar Miller, who decided to take a bigger role with the Houston Texans. The Texans will utilize Miller more than enough to keep him happy, but Miami currently only has Jay Ajayi on their roster.

The Dolphins will need to decide whether or not to run with Ajayi as their starter or sign Johnson to an offer he cannot refuse. The team traded back in the 2016 Draft, and it makes you wonder if Miami is going to target Ezekiel Elliott with its 13TH overall pick.

Johnson would obviously like to enter a situation where his talents will be the most utilized, but his choice may come down to being a part of a winning organization or going to a rebuilding one. The Dolphins have so many issues to deal with before they even reach a point where they could call themselves playoff contenders, so Johnson may lean to re-signing with the Cardinals and taking his secondary role during the 2016 season.

Johnson's career was almost over after he was released by the New York Jets. Since then, Johnson was shot in the shoulder and had to deal with an ice cold free agent market, but the Cardinals finally recognized that he had some gas left in the tank. If Johnson signs with the Cardinals, it immediately gives them one of the best running back committees in the NFL.
