Congratulations are in order for Michael C. Hall and girlfriend Morgan Macgregor!

The "Dexter" actor and Macgregor got married on Monday at the City Hall in New York City.

The couple picked an unusual date to get hitched, considering that they'll have to wait every four years to celebrate their anniversary.

Hall and Macgregor, who is a Los Angles-based book critic and novelist, started dating in 2012. The couple stepped out together to make their first public appearance on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards that year.

This is the 45-year-old actor's third marriage. Hall has previously exchanged vows with Jennifer Carpenter, who played the role of his sister on the Showtime series. The couple parted ways in 2012.

Hall was also previously married to actress Amy Spanger from 2002 to 2007. The two met while working on the Broadway musical "Chicago."

In December, Hall featured in David Bowie's off-Broadway play "Lazarus," as Thomas Newton, a role portrayed by the legendary musician himself in the classic 1963 sci-fi novel "The Man Who Fell to Earth."

He will next be seen in the upcoming film "Christine" alongside Rebecca Hall. The Antonio Campos' film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, is inspired by the true story of Christine Chubbuck, a depressed newscaster who made headlines in 1974 after she committed suicide on live television.

The film received a positive response from audiences at the festival and was picked up by The Orchard. The company, who now owns the North American distribution rights to the film, has plans to release the movie later this year.

"'Christine' is one of the most enthralling and compelling films we saw at Sundance," said The Orchard's senior VP of film and television, Paul Davidson. "There are so few films that truly stick with you the way this one does. Antonio's vision is exceptionally unique and he is precisely the kind of filmmaker we are committed to working with at The Orchard."

Hall has a Golden Globe under his belt for his role as Dexter Morgan in the titular show, which ran between 2006 and 2013. Before "Dexter," Hall appeared on the HBO series "Six Feet Under."
