Just hours before Rihanna was scheduled to take the stage at the 2016 Grammys, she cancelled her performance as she had been suffering bronchitis for a few days and was at risk of damaging her vocal chords. While nobody was questioning this very believable excuse, as this often happens with singers, other sources are now saying that there may be two sides to the story.

The 27-year-old pop diva apparently had a meltdown prior to the show and "was screaming and hysterical" because she was not pleased with how things were going during rehearsals, sources who were present told TMZ. Rihanna was reportedly "loudly expressing" how upset she was, which was supposedly what really caused her to back out of the performance.

Once news got out that she would no longer be performing, her rep confirmed to Billboard that doctors had put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because "she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords," even though she had been taking antibiotics for Bronchitis for three days at that point. Even so, the medication "did not kill the infection adequately," which was the reason for why she could not perform.

Now that rumors of her apparent outburst are going around, it's hard to tell what the real reason for the cancellation was, especially since other sources are saying that these meltdown reports are "false information," according to Hollywood Life.

Rihanna did tweet at the time, "#NAVY so sorry I couldn't be there....Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight," although she has not said anything since. She also had just performed two days before the Grammys at a Lionel Richie charity event and sounded completely fine. Sources even say she sang "flawlessly" at the charity event and that her voice was "great" at the Grammys rehearsal.
