The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the worst teams in the NBA at the All-Star break, and with the trade deadline coming up, it may be time for them to move on from some veterans to get younger guys playing time. Minnesota has been receiving a lot of interest for some of their younger guys like Shabazz Muhammad and Ricky Rubio but the older guys weren't drawing much of anything, until now. Point guard Andre Miller has recently drawn some interest, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN

The report states that an unknown team is "kicking the tires" on a possible trade for Miller. The Sacramento Kings are not the team that has shown interest, according to Wolfson, despite the fact that head coach George Karl is a huge fan of him. The Utah Jazz make a lot of sense as the team with interest because they have a young team in position for the playoffs and they could use help at the point guard position.

Nothing is close in terms of a trade for Miller, but the Timberwolves would likely be asking for next to nothing in return for the veteran. Due to the presumably low asking price, it would seem as though a team with interest in Miller should be able to agree to a deal fairly quickly. The Timberwolves aren't expected to be incredibly active at the deadline, according to SB Nation, so moving Miller might be their primary focus.

Miller is serving as the Timberwolves backup point guard behind Rubio, as Zach LaVine is back to playing shooting guard. Miller's minutes still haven't been big, but he has had his moments on the court this season. The 39-year-old point guard is averaging 3.4 points and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 62 percent from the field through 26 games. Miller likely wouldn't help another team on the court, but his leadership is seen as very valuable.

For the Timberwolves, the benfit of trading Miller would not be in what they get back for him. Instead, it would be getting rookie Tyus Jones some extra minutes. Jones has been buried on the Wolves' depth chart, and because of that, he has played in just 10 games all season. Minnesota would like to see what they have in the 19-year-old, so trading Miller would open up minutes behind Rubio for the rookie.
