Varun Dhawan will step into the shoes of Salman Khan as he replaces him in his father David Dhawan's sequel to the 1997 comedy, "Judwaa." The 28-year-old actor broke the news on Tuesday via his Twitter account.

"Judwaa 2," Varun Dhawan captioned a photo of himself donning a black t-shirt and a blue jacket with a raised collar.

The "Dilwale" star will be playing a double role in "Judwaa 2." This won't be the first time the father-son duo will be working together. Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan have previously collaborated in the 2014 rom-com, "Main Tera Hero."

The original film featured Khan in twin avatars alongside Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. The sequel's remaining star-cast is yet to be announced but there is speculation that Shraddha Kapoor has been signed on for the Sajid Nadiadwala-produced project and will play one of the two leading ladies opposite Varun Dhawan, according to Mid-Day.

The film's production is already underway in Los Angeles and a couple of look tests have also been done. A big Hollywood studio and DOP (director of photography) have already shot a test skydiving scene using a body double with Hollywood stunt co-coordinator, Spiro Razatos, whose credits include, "Furious 7" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," according to the Times of India.
