Parineeti Chopra has apparently bagged a role in Yash Raj Films' "Thug," which is inspired by Johnny Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean," according to Filmibeat.

"Parineeti has signed 'Thug' and the announcement about signing her as the female lead will be made in the coming week," said a source. The "Kill Dil" actress recently hinted at an award show that she was currently in negotiations for a film. "There is something," she said. "But I can't announce. We will announce it whenever we are ready. The producers will do that."

"Dhoom" director Vijay Krishna Acharya will reportedly be taking over the duties as the director for the project, which Hrithik Roshan was originally a part of as the male lead. He even delayed the project so he could make more time for "Mohenjo Daro," his next film with daddy dearest Rakesh Roshan.

However, the actor apparently walked out of the film because he wasn't entirely convinced with the film's script. "'Thug' has a huge budget and Hrithik wants to make sure the script is in its right place. Since a lot of focus is on the special effects, he is worried that the story and plot might take a back seat," according to a source, Bollywood Life reported.

Last month, there were reports that Chopra had been cast in YRF's "Dhoom 4" alongside Hrithik Roshan, as HNGN previously reported.
