There are new, shocking reports surfacing regarding the sudden death of actress Brittany Murphy and her husband Simon Monjack. Murphy was found dead in her home on Dec. 20, 2009. At the time the Los Angeles County Coroner said the 32-year-old "Clueless" star had died from "natural causes" due to pneumonia and anemia. Her husband was found dead in their home from the same causes five months later.

Murphy's dad, Angelo Bertolotti, 87 ordered a new toxicology report which found ten heavy metals in the actress' system, leaving some to believe she had ingested rat poisoning.

"If we were to eliminate the possibility of a simultaneous accidental heavy metals exposure to the sample donor then the only logical explanation would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent," the report said.

The toxicology report proved Bertolotti's fears - that his daughter did not die from natural causes. According to the Daily Mail, Bertolotti believes Murphy "was poisoned by government spooks in revenge for the star's support of a whistleblower."

Reportedly, around the time of Murphy's death her father claims she and her husband were put under surveillance for giving celebrity backing to Julia Davis, a Department of Homeland Security whistleblower. Davis, who said she was once a stunt double for actress Angelina Jolie, claimed the U.S. was letting terrorists cross the Mexican border. When she told her bosses about the lax security nothing was done so she reportedly went to the FBI.

Davis said at the time she was working in California as a border security guard and was labeled a "domestic terrorist" for exposing the security flaws. She and Bertolotti are reportedly going to write a tell-all book about Murphy's death.

"She was under surveillance from shadowy government operators who wiretapped her phone and terrorized her after she spoke out in support of [Davis]," her father claimed.

Bertolotti isn't the only family member suspicious of Murphy's death. Several other people close to the star have asked the Los Angeles Police Department to re-open the investigation.

"I called it two weeks after it happened," a family member told the website. "You just don't have two people die like that under those circumstances."

Even though her father believes Murphy might have been intentionally poisoned officials insist there is no evidence to support his claims. Shortly after the deaths of Murphy and Monjack, health officials reportedly suggested toxic mold in the house could have contributed to the sudden deaths.
