Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) shared a nice moment in last week’s episode, as they both sat and enjoyed some time with their daughter Maddie (Lennon Stella). (By the way, did anyone else think Deacon had the best line of the season? After mentioning that Maddie was growing up fast he followed up with, “Not too fast, I just got here.” Gold.)

According to EOnline, Rayna and Deacon are going to share more nice moments as the season progresses. The website reports the two will return to writing music together, something they haven’t done in quite some time.

Things are going to be very complicated in the Deacon/Maddie/Teddy relationship. According to an interview Eric Close, who plays Teddy, recently did with TVGuide.com, his character doesn’t really care that Deacon is Maddie’s biological father.

"Teddy would prefer that Deacon doesn't have any part of this relationship, but he's got to find a way to deal with it," Close told the website. "In the beginning, it definitely put a strain on his relationship with his daughter, but he's trying his best to make that work ... it's up and down."

Unfortunately for Teddy, Deacon and Maddie are only going to get closer—especially when they perform a duet together in a future episode.

"This is a major step forward for the two of us to be standing there while she plays the guitar and voices in harmony,” Esten tells TV Guide. "It's just a father and daughter and it takes us a long way. So, there's no discounting how much it means to do that music together."

Are you happy to see Deacon finally growing closer with his daughter? Are you excited for their upcoming duet?

“Nashville” airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
