Apple has rolled out an update for Mail application on its latest OS X Mavericks for fixing bugs with Gmail integration that prevents users from deleting, moving, archiving emails using custom settings and gives an inaccurate count for unread mails.

Apple's latest desktop operating system, OS X Mavericks, won a lot of users' interest and had the fastest adaption rate compared to its predecessors. The success of Mavericks came with a price, users had issues with the desktop Mail client and Gmail integration. In response to all the reported problems, Apple finally released a fix for its email clients, Thursday.

Several users who updated to the free OS X Mavericks found themselves tangled in a series of problems with Gmail integration on Mail. Users reported issues with deleting, moving, and archiving messages for those with "custom Gmail settings" and inaccurate unread counts. But as its usual response to issues, Apple released a software update to its Mavericks users for fixing the bug.

In addition to fixing the reported problems, Apple also fixed few other bugs to improve the "compatibility and stability of Mail," according to the company's Support page.

Apple gave step-by-step instruction on how to download and install the latest update on Mavericks to fix the problems with Mail. The Cupertino-based tech company advises you to back up your Mac before proceeding with the update. The simplest way to do so is by using Time Machine. Users can choose Software Update under Apple Menu or go to Mac App Store to check for latest updates.

The updated Mail client with not change the version 7.0 but will update the new build number to 1822 from its previous 1816.

Users with multiple computers can also choose an alternate manual update installer option. These installers are available on Apple Support Downloads page.
