A technical glitch caused Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s online shop to suddenly slash prices on items Wednesday morning, creating a frenzy at the site's checkout.

Most products that were affected by what the company called a "technical error," went down more than 90 percent on their listed prices, according to the Los Angeles Times. Without warning, shoppers saw televisions and computer monitors being sold for $8 a piece, video games at $18, and treadmills for $33.

Customers who experienced reverse-sticker shock took to social media to not only boast about their massive savings, but alert others of the deals.

"Wal-mart pricing errors has big games selling for $18, monitors for $8-hilarious gold rush in progress," @markmacd wrote.

"Ordered a set of $300 speakers for $30 due to a Walmart pricing error," user Caleb Williams wrote. "Now hope they honor it."

User @freeshootXiggy informed shoppers seeking out deals to "go for the smaller things" rather than purchasing expensive items in bulk.

"Maybe you'll get lucky," he suggested.

Walmart officials released a statement to the Associated Press shortly after the glitch occurred, saying that the company was working to fix the issue and that the website might still be tempermental for the next couple of days.

"We're working quickly to correct it," spokesperson Ravi Jariwala told Bloomberg, adding that he was still unsure whether the company would honor the prices for items purchased online in the wake of the error. "We're still working through those details and will follow up with customers," he reported.

Last month, Louisiana shoppers cleared Walmart shelves after a technical glitch in the state's food stamp debit card system temporarily lifted spending limits.
