It's not easy to find makeup that's both high-quality and affordable. Sephora is the place to go for highly-pigmented eyeshadows, long-lasting, velvety lipsticks, and smudge-free eyeliners from brands like Benefit, Make Up For Ever, Stila and Tarte, but you'll undoubtedly rack up a bill upwards of fifty dollars for just an item or two.

If you're willing to sacrifice Sephora-level quality for a good deal, many drugstore alternatives are great as well, but is there a way to have both amazing quality and value?

There is indeed! We've found three excellent brands whose products are Sephora-quality but available at drugstore price.

Colourpop is made in LA, cruelty-free, and is the best price-for-quality makeup currently on the market. Their eyeshadows, cream gel liners, and lipsticks will run you back no more than $6 apiece, and are all intensely pigmented and long-wearing. This deep red/brown lipstick is smooth, smells great, and lasts for hours. This brown shadow is great for every day, and this bold, bright purple shadow works great as a shadow or liner.

CoastalScents is another cruelty-free company, and this brand allows you to make your own eyeshadow palette set, with each shadow "hot pot" costing only 1.95, says SR Trends. You can pick and choose whichever colors you'll actually use on a regular basis. You can browse all their colors and palette options on their website.

Essence Cosmetics is originally from the UK, items range in price from $1-$10, and you could fill your get a whole makeup setup from them and be happy with the quality of everything you buy. Their eyeliners stay put, their shadows are shimmery, and their nail polishes are bright and beautiful.
