A Georgia mother was arrested on Friday after she allegedly posted an ad on Craigslist seeking a newborn baby for her 14-year-old daughter, according to Forsyth County officials.

Elaine Williams, 47, of Cumming, Ga., posted the ad under the "Baby and Kid Stuff" category of the website. The advertisement, titled "Home for a newborn baby," was seeking unwanted babies and said that mothers could drop off the child in a "baby box," according to police, KFOR reported.

Police received a call reporting the ad, which also asked for a copy of the newborn's birth certificate and health record and mentioned that disabled children should not be placed in the baby box.

Williams, who has been charged with unlawful advertisement and inducement for adoption of children told the cops that "her daughter wanted a baby and would get one with or without her help, so she decided to help." She is currently being held at the Forsyth County Jail on a $5,610 bond, according to Forsyth County News.

"The reason was, OK, if you don't want your child or you can't afford it or whatever situation you're in, then OK, maybe we can work something out," said the 14-year-old, whose identity has not yet been revealed, according to WGCL-TV. "It wasn't for illegal adoption."

"They were prepared for a baby," said Sheriff Duane Piper of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department. "The 14-year-old had a crib, formula, diapers, baby gifts."
