Sony Computer Entertainment is preparing gamers for the PlayStation 4 release in November by unveiling new details about exclusive games for the console and updates to the controller for the system.

The developers kept many things in mind when designing the PS4 controller, but mainly focused of functionality and comfort. The biggest change in PS4's DualShock 4 controller no longer uses the analogue face buttons.

"With the DualShock 3, we were able to get analog data, which games didn't really use," Sony product planning manager Toshimasa Aoki told VentureBeat. "For DualShock 4, we deleted that, and now it's all digital. The mechanism inside is a little different, and the data that games get is different."

Additionally during the testing of the controller, users didn't notice there was a difference in the face buttons, as they are positioned a little further apart.

"Nobody noticed it. Actually, when we were testing and laying it out, we said, 'Hey, the DualShock 3 isn't really the same distance there,'" Aoki explained. "When we designed the DualShock 4, we wanted the touchpad to be in the middle and as large as possible but not enough to make the controller really big. We made the square and circle a little closer, so they're the same distance as all the buttons. That saves horizontal space to have more for the touchpad."

Along with controller design differences, Sony released an ad revealing exclusive game titles that will be available for the PS4.

Some of the titles listed in the ad are "Killzone: Shadow Fall," The delayed "DRIVECLUB," "Infamous: Second Son," and "The Order: 1886." Games like "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and "Watch Dogs" will also include an hour's worth of exclusive gameplay for the PS4.
