Latest rumor suggests that the Google Nexus 10 2 will debut October 24 and will be made by ASUS.

It was originally reported by IBTimes that the Google Nexus 10 2 will be out October 14 but the date has passed and no tablet was unveiled. However, it seems that it will be on October 24 as Google has already sent out invitations for an event.

In the invitation which reads "Join us for a night out with Google Play," it says that the event is on Thursday at 7:00 p.m ET in New York. This sparked speculations that Google Nexus 10 2 will debut on the event.

Talks about the Nexus 10 2 have been very few as Nexus 5 is always in the news in the past couple of months. Several tech insiders speculated on which company would be producing the tablet and have narrowed it down to Samsung and ASUS. Samsung was the manufacturer of the Google Nexus 10. As the tablet's release date draws nearer, it became clearer that ASUS to be most likely to produce it, according to a report from the Christian Post.

@evleaks supported the speculation after it leaked a photo showing the new device's inventory listing. With words that read “Google ASUS Nexus 10,” we can strongly believe that ASUS is indeed the maker of this upcoming product.

The device has also appeared in a British retailer's inventory listing with a price tag of £350 for the 16GB model. If this is true, the upcoming Nexus 10 will most likely be selling at $399 in the U.S, the same price of the previous model when it was launched in 2012. If ASUS copies the same strategy used by the Nexus 7, this could result to a minimal price bump compared to the model last year. However, these are only speculations.

If ASUS is indeed the company to produce the Nexus 10, it is very likely that the device will be based on the new Transformer Pad Infinity TFT701T with NVIDIA Tegra 4 T40X quad-core processor, Android 4.2 Jellybean, 2GB RAM, a 10.1-inch display with resolution of 2560x1600 and ppi of 300, a 5MP rear camera, USB 3.0 and micro-HDMI ports, and high quality speakers built with ASUS SonicMaster technology.
