The "Assassin's Creed" franchise is adding a film to their installments with actor Michael Fassbender set to play Desmond Miles.

Though the name of the title character Fassbender is set to play has not been confirmed, the actor did tell The Daily Best an "Assassin's Creed" movie is happening.

However, Fassbender has a lot of preparing to do, seeing as though he's never played a game in the series.

"We're just developing the script at the moment. I'd heard of it but had never played the game. I don't have a video game player ... that's not what they're called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting-the idea of reliving memories," Fassbender told the Daily Beast.

Well, at least he's honest about it.  The "Assassin's Creed" movie is reportedly set to be released on June 19, 2015.

Until the film's launch, fans of the game series have a new installment to look forward to.  "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" will launch on Oct. 29.

(Warning: spoilers ahead)

With Desmond Miles dying at the end of "Assassin's Creed 3," game developers wanted to give players a new way to play during the present day story line.

Gamers will play an Abstergo Entertainment employee who has the ability to hack into the computer system.  There is no lead character like Miles has been for the previous three titles, and the amount you are required to spend outside of the Animus won't be very long.

"In total, if you were to do everything in the present day - find everything, hack every computer, access every room - it's a solid three to five hours," Game Director Ashraf Ismail said in Ubisoft's official blog.  "For the main path - the stuff you're required to do - it's somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes. You leave the Animus five times during the game's main path and each time you're there for about three to four minutes."

However, gamers will want to explore Abstergo's offices to get insight in Miles' death.

"You have to hack computers and figure out how to access certain rooms and get through security," Ismail said.  "There is gameplay in just being able to access that stuff. When you access it, the content you find is a reward for us. Through this content you see what happens to Desmond after Assassin's Creed III. We used it as an opportunity to say goodbye to Desmond. There's actually a lot of stuff linked to him that you find."
