Last year, comic book fans were treated to Marvel's Netflix series "Daredevil" which introduced the dark and gritty street-level superhero into the MCU. This Friday, "Jessica Jones" will become available for streaming and continue that trend. But in addition to the titular hero, comic book character Luke Cage aka Power Man will also be introduced in advance of his own spinoff series.

While fans are eagerly awaiting the release of "Jessica Jones," Netflix quietly released the first teaser for "Luke Cage." The short 15-second clip shows Cage assuming ownership of the popular "Daredevil" watering hole Josies, where Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page like to drink away their sorrows.

Actor Mike Colter will star as Luke Cage in "Jessica Jones" and is currently filming his own series in New York.

"It's geared towards an adult audience, which is something that will be different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe you've seen before on the big screen," Colter said in a recent interview. "We have a more gritty, focused story on our heroes and characters that live in New York City, but it's geared towards a more adult audience and I think that's the thing about the series that will be different."

"Luke Cage" is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2016.
