Apple is now offering a $50 discount for those purchasing an Apple Watch bundled with an iPhone. The move is temporary and is only available at select Apple stores in Boston and San Francisco.

The limited discount promo, which will run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 15, is widely seen as a new marketing strategy to boost Apple Watch sales. While $50 is a paltry amount for a minimum bundle purchase of $998, Apple is not exactly known for discounts aside from those it gives out to students and during Black Friday deals, Tech Times noted. Observers are, therefore, suspicious about this new price deal amid speculations that it is not performing as well as expected in the market.

Apple has been uncharacteristically mum about the wearable's sales figure. Company representatives have so far declined to release the actual numbers, citing that such information will reveal insights to its competitors, CNET reported. Currently, experts estimate that Apple Watches sold in this quarter could reach 3.95 million, lower than last quarter's figures, according to Fortune.

Consumers who want to take advantage of the discount will have to be content with the Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport. The promo does not cover the Apple Watch Edition and Apple Watch Hermes. It is also important to note that the discount is not available in Apple's online store.
