Alek Skarlatos visited his recovering friend, Spencer Stone, after Stone was hospitalized due to a multiple stabbing incident last week in Sacramento, Calif., that was previously covered by HNGN.

Skarlatos and Stone are two of the three hailed American heroes who created buzz in August for voluntarily taking down a gun-attack suspect on a train heading to Paris. Stone is currently recovering at the UC Davis Medical Center, according to Air Force Times.

"Saw the hero today," Skarlatos captioned the selfie that he took with Stone, according to People. The photo is no longer posted on Instagram, but screenshots of it were taken.

The 23-year-old Stone was trying to defend a woman on Oct. 7 when he was stabbed.

"A big group was walking down the street and they went into the intersection," according to liquor store worker, Eric Cain, People reported. "One of the guys hit one of the girls and the guy - who turned out to be Spencer Stone - went after that guy. It happened really quickly."

The three Asian male suspects for the assault immediately went away after the incident on a 2009-2012 dark gray or black Toyota Camry, according to Sacramento Police.

The fight scene between the suspects and Stone was a "very unfortunate altercation between two groups of folks who were enjoying the nightlife," Deputy Police Chief Ken Bernard said, according to News Max. He emphasized that this is not a terrorist-related attack and the assailants were probably was not aware of Stone's fame.

Stone will fully recover while the manhunt for the suspects continue.

Skarlatos will proceed to law enforcement after his gig with "Dancing With The Stars."
