United States First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated the International Day of the Girl by releasing an all-girl playlist through The White House's Spotify account entitled "The First Lady's Day of the Girl Playlist." The United Nations has scheduled Oct.11 as the day to promote gender equality awareness worldwide, as HNGN reported.

The First Lady's playlist, promoted with the hashtag #64MillionGirls, is compilation of empowering songs all performed by female artists. With over 4,000 followers, the playlist has songs by icons such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin. The 20-track playlist lasts for one hour and 19 minutes.

The "girl power" expressed on the songs "No Scrubs" by TLC and "Survivor" by Destiny's Child can also be heard, according to Access Hollywood. There are also soulful tracks by Diana Ross and Billie Holiday.

Obama's playlist release is part of her "Let Girls Learn" project. The campaign aims to expand access of educations for girls all over the world, especially in other developing countries. She ams to influence American girls to grab opportunities and work it for their advantage, according to Yahoo News.

United States President Barack Obama initially released Spotify playlists during a vacation in Martha's Vineyard this summer. Obama released one daytime and one evening playlist that includes the songs of artists like The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones and Justin Timberlake.
