When will "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hit theaters for the very first time? Not December 18, when it officially opens worldwide. Instead, The Hollywood Reporter says that J.J. Abrams' new addition to the galaxy far, far away will premiere on December 14 in Los Angeles.

"The Los Angeles premiere is sure to be one of the hottest tickets in recent Hollywood history, with executives, agents and journalists jockeying for a coveted invite. In addition, Disney is attempting to keep the film's secrets under wraps, so there will be minimal screenings for press and cast and crew in advance of the premiere. While members of the cast of the J.J. Abrams-helmed film have appeared at Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration over the past year, the world premiere also is likely to be the first time that most or all of the cast will be seen together."

The outlet says that following the L.A. debut, the cast and crew will head out to London and other regions for additional international premieres. Everything we've heard about the movie makes it sounds great, but how many times can these guys really sit through it?

It's unknown which theater will have the honor of hosting the hotly anticipated premiere and no other details about the event are available at this time.

"Star Wars" die-hards know that "A New Hope" premiered in Mann's Chinese Theater in 1977 (now the TCL Chinese Theater). Abrams has made it a point to honor the original trilogy throughout the filmmaking process, so it would make some sense to go back to where it all began.

But good luck trying to get a ticket.
