NFL owners convened in New York City on Tuesday and Wednesday to make important decisions regarding the NFL and its future, and some owners have stated that a decision regarding a team in Los Angeles is likely to be made by January, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Tribune.

The San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders are positioning themselves for an NFL site in Carson, while the St. Louis Rams are looking to relocate to Inglewood. The Rams may be getting closer to relocating, after news of their new stadium will reportedly cost taxpayers an extra $215 million than originally expected.

Steelers president Art Rooney II is part of the L.A. committee, and he said, "I think we have a chance of getting something voted on by January," via the San Diego Tribune.

Chargers chairman Dean Spanos and Rams owner Stan Kroenke continue to pour money and time into their Los Angeles projects, and both are reportedly pushing for a resolution by January, according to Acee.

While relocation is the major topic being discussed at the NFL owner meetings, other issues, such as the international games are big topics of discussion. The NFL has announced an extension of its international series through 2025, and locations other than the United Kingdom are included, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

The NFL's executive Vice President International Mark Waller said that Mexico is the focus for 2016, and that there could be years of games played there, as consistency will be important, according to Rapoport.

The NFL is clearly trying to spread its brand, and games like last Sunday's Dolphins-Jets game in Wembley Stadium, in London, are likely helping spread the sport to different countries. While the NFL looks internationally for games, they will also be looking to put a team back in Los Angeles for the first time in 20 years.
