This Kevin Durant, Stephen A. Smith story doesn't seem to be coming to an end any time soon. After Durant basically called Smith a liar last week Smith has fired back Monday morning on ESPN's "First Take" saying that he can dig up dirt on Durant and that he can essentially ruin the superstar player, according to TMZ Sports.

This all started last week when Smith reported that Durant's "main objective" was to go to the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency next summer if he didn't re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant is entering the final year of his contract with Oklahoma City and is expected to be one of the most highly coveted free agents in recent memory so there is a lot of speculation as to where he will end up and the ESPN reporter heard from someone, presumably in Durant's camp, that the Lakers were a top option.

On Friday Durant came out and said that he does not talk to Stephen A. Smith and that nobody close to him does either. Durant even went as far as to say that "he's lying." Now Smith used his "First Take" forum to address the situation and he did not hold back any punches.

"I sit here today incredibly offended by the personal attack that this man has put against me. What I would like to ask Kevin Durant and some of the brothers who talk behind my back in the NBA who probably put him up to something stupid like this: Do you really want me to come out of this seat and go back on the scene? Do you really wanna see me in an NBA arena? Because I can assure you I'll find out more in 10 minutes than I can get from 50 phone calls, I have proven it. We really wanna go here? We really wanna start something with me? You sure about that? I just want people to think about that," said Smith.

Smith is clearly sticking to his guns on this one as he clearly believes that what he heard was accurate information. Smith has been reporting on the NBA for 22 years so it's hard to imagine he would just make something up. Durant's free agency is still a long way away but it is already causing quite a raucous and now we will have to wait and see what happens next in this developing situation.
