Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray will reportedly play this Sunday against the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Ashley Fox.

Murray has missed practice time while dealing with a hamstring injury, and he underwent an MRI on Wednesday. He was the NFL's rushing leader last season with 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns.

This season with the Eagles, Murray has rushed 11 yards on 21 carries, averaging under a yard per carry. His frustration was clearly visible against the Dallas Cowboys when he was consistently hit before reaching the line of scrimmage.

The Eagles were supposed to have one of the best backfields in all of football. With a combination of DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, and Darren Sproles, Philadelphia looked to have one of the best backfields in the league, easily. However, the Eagles have the worst rushing attack in the NFL after two games, and there is plenty of blame to go around.

Eagles left tackle Lane Johnson said this is a "must win" game this week against the New York Jets, and he is likely correct, as the Eagles don't want to find themselves falling behind in the NFC East. It won't be an easy task - the Jets defense has looked solid this season and just held Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts to seven points on Monday night.

It will be interesting to see if head coach Chip Kelly switches up how things are run for the Eagles offense, as they are in some desperate need of changes. Murray is expected to play Sunday against the Jets, but it looks to be tough sledding as the he will be facing one of the best defenses in the league.
