Avril Lavigne is on the way to good health. The 30-year-old singer, who has been battling Lyme disease since last year, took fans inside her doctor's appointment via Instagram Tuesday and updated them on her recovery progress.

"On my way to good health #TakingCareOfMyself #FuckLymeDisease," Lavigne captioned a photo of her arm and 13 vials of blood.

Lavigne also posted an image of herself smiling while sitting on her doctor's examining table as she was about to undergo blood tests and a check-up. She captioned the post using lyrics from her song "Fly," which she recorded in support of the Special Olympics this year.

"This journey continues.... Just reach up, don't give up until you've touch the sky... We were all meant to fly... #DrOfficePhotoShoot," she wrote. Lavigne also posted Tuesday a photo of herself sitting on the beach watching the ocean waves, with the caption, "Taking the majesty of the moment."

The "Hello Kitty" singer revealed to People Magazine last year that she was diagnosed with Lyme disease after her birthday trip to Las Vegas, which is "caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks.," according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

It's been a tough year for the Canadian pop-rock singer, who recently announced that she and husband Chad Kroeger were separating after two years of marriage. The former couple got married in Southern France in July 2013.

"It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," she wrote alongside a pic from their wedding day. "Through not only the marriage but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."

Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley for four years until they divorced in 2010.
