A Muslim exorcist named Zakariyya Islam was reportedly stabbed to death in east London on Sept. 14 . Islam was a father of three and co-founder of Ruqya Therapy Chapel. His daughter said, "The family was shocked," according to The Independent.

When the police arrived at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14, Islam was in critical condition. Although they tried, it was not possible to revive Islam and he died because of his injuries. An arrest was made at the scene of the crime. The suspect, 43, suffered some trauma to his hand. "He was treated in hospital for hand injuries and was today being questioned by detectives who recovered a knife following the attack at 6.30 p.m. yesterday," according to The.East London Advertiser.

Within Ruqya Therapy Chapel, Islam was well known after 10 years of service practicing black magic. Islam was also known for performing exorcisms on people who were said to be possessed by evil spirits or "Jinns." Performing these for services for more than a decade, he got to know different people in the community. This could possibly be what led to -- what many of his family and friends are calling -- an untimely death. Some of his colleagues like Tasawer Islam believe "he may have been killed because of his work," according to Daily Mail. Police also have evidence that suggests the suspect they have in custody knows Islam, which means his killing was likely not a random one.
