Copa America Centenario is staying in the United States, according to MLSSoccer.com. The 100th anniversary of the famous tournament is scheduled to kick off next year, but until recently, no one knew if it would officially happen.

Amid the massive scandals taking place with FIFA, several key members of the Copa America Centenario planning committee were taken out and not able to fulfill their duties. CONMEBOL President Juan Angel Napout announced Friday that the tournament is staying in America.

"We have once again ratified the unanimous decision taken at a meeting in August to hold Copa America in its original format in the United States," stated Napout.

CONMEBOL announced yesterday that it plans to meet with CONCACAF Interim President Alfredo Hawit to start ironing out important details for the tournament, according to CONMEBOL.com.

The tournament happens once ever four years, similar to the World Cup and Olympic games. Next year's tournament will have 10 CONMEBOL teams and six CONCACAF teams.
