Zack Snyder's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is still six months away, but already its stars are talking the film up. Without revealing anything spoiler-y, Jesse Eisenberg (who plays Lex Luthor) talked at length about how much he enjoyed the character and how fantastic the screenplay is.

"Yes, it is like the most incredible character," Eisenberg said on The Today Show. "It was written by this guy, Chris Terrio. This is like his first movie after Argo. He's just this brilliant writer of characters. So this movie is not this kind of cartoonish superhero movie. It is very serious and well acted, well written, well directed movie. It's really phenomenal."

Wow, that's some seriously effusive praise. Of course, no one expects Eisenberg to trash the movie. But it really sounds as if he believes in this project and that has to be taken as a good sign by eager fans.

Terrio is an Academy Award-winning screen writer which bodes well for the substance in "Batman V Superman." "Man of Steel," which kicked off the DC Extended Universe, was a financial hit ($668 million worldwide) but left a lot to be desired from a critical standpoint. Terrio's increased emphasis on character development and the continued realistic tone should help steady the burgeoning DCEU.

Eisenberg will be joined by Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Holly Hunter and Jeremy Irons in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Not only will Affleck's Batman and Gadot's Wonder Woman be making their DCEU debuts, but Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Ezra Miller's Flash are also expected to have brief cameos in the film as well. The ensemble cast will plant the seeds for the two-part "Justice League" series expected to hit theaters in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be released on Mar. 25, 2016 and followed by David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" on Aug. 6.
