Zac Efron recently completed a secret stint in rehab earlier in the year. It was originally reported by E! News that he entered the facility to get help for alcohol addiction but TMZ says it was for something far more serious.

Several sources told the celebrity website that Efron was actually in rehab for a cocaine addiction. According to TMZ, his alleged drug use spiraled out of control while he was filming Seth Rogan's movie "Neighbors" at the beginning of the summer.

"It was common knowledge that he was struggling with cocaine," a source said adding that the former "High School Musical" star would often not show up for work.

Three other sources also confirmed Efron's cocaine use and also claim he dabbled with Molly, a pure form of Ecstasy. TMZ reports that the 25-year-old actor went on a "coke rager" while staying at the SkyLofts at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and caused almost $50,000 in damage.

Efron's rep denied to comment on the allegations but the actor was recently spotted at the Toronto International Film festival for the premiere of his movie "Parkland." E! News says the actor looked happy and healthy following the rehab stint.

"I'm good, real good," he told E!.

"He's healthy, happy and not drinking," a source added. "He's taking time to focus on working."

In "Parkland" he plays a real-life surgeon who was a 28-year-old first-year surgical resident who became the first person to examine JFK after his assassination.

"The three days are really shrouded in so much mystery and controversy with conspiracy theories," Efron said at the event. "Growing up, I didn't know what was fact or fiction. But the simple truths of what transpired that we know for a fact are all in this movie."
