Qualcomm, one of the biggest chipmakers for mobile devices, has announced that it is going to release its next generation chipset, the Snapdragon 820. The only handset in existence that is equipped with the processor was a device called Green Orange X1 Pro, which scored an incredible 83,774 points in an AnTuTu benchmark.

No one has seen the Green Orange X1 Pro yet except for a leaked image showing its spec sheet captured through the Antutu app, according to Techgrapple. The information includes a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which could be the reason why the benchmark has shot through the roof. Most flagship phones today have a 1440 x 2560 display, which tempers processor performance in benchmarks. It is worth noting, however, that spec sheets for the Green Orange X1 Pro show an Android Kitkat OS, which is already outdated.

So, the chipset must be doing amazing work. The Xiaomi Mi5 Pro has so far been the only handset confirmed to sport the Snapdragon 820. However, the device will be launched sometime in March 2016, Softpedia reported. This means that enthusiasts would have to wait in order to test the performance of Qualcomm's new technology.

The leaked information includes the new Snapdragon 820's much-touted power efficiency. The Kryo CPU within the chipset is twice as power-efficient as the Snapdragon 810 according to Engadget.

There is currently no information about the Snapdragon 820's potential rival, the Mediatek Helio X20, except for leaked information that it will supposedly power the upcoming HTC One A9.
