On Wednesday Apple will be rolling out a new update for almost all of its mobile devices that will completely change the look of the iOS operating system that Apple's mobile device work off of. iOS 7 is set to release to the public on Sept. 18, but one question that many people are wondering is, what will happen if they don't want iOS 7 or are currently out of date on the current iOS? It appears that Apple now has those people covered.

A Reddit user has discovered that Apple is now allowing users with an out-of-date iOS to download the last compatible version of the app in question. Previously if someone with an out-of-date iOS wanted to download an app like Instagram, which requires iOS 5.0 or later according to PCMag, the person would receive a notification that read: "This requires iOS 6." From there the user would simply need to abandon any hope of putting the app on his or her out-of-date device.

Now the company is giving people the option to simply download the last version of the app that worked with the iOS on the user's mobile device.

"Download an older version of this app? The current version requires iOS 5.0 or later, but you can download the last compatible version."

In other words, although people's Instagram App will be similarly out of date, they won't be restricted from getting new apps on their device. Apple has never forced users to download the latest iOS, the company just highly encourages it. The new pop-up message is Apple's way of making sure that even its reluctant customers still have a good customer experience with their iOS device.

The news comes on the eve of the biggest redesign to iOS since the invention of the App store. On Wednesday, everyone will be prompted to download the free update to iOS 7 and get a completely revamped version of the operating system complete with a bevy of new features including updates to Siri, the camera and a new slide-up control panel. The download is available for iPhones 4 and above, iPads 2 and above and all fifth generation iPod Touches.
