At this point almost everybody knows about the DeAndre Jordan situation that occurred this offseason when he verbally committed to the Dallas Mavericks before eventually re-signing with the Los Angeles Clippers. There have been guesses as to why this happened but it is being reported that Jordan's agent, Dan Fegan, was pushing him to take the Mavericks offer before Jordan was really ready to, according to Eric Freeman of Yahoo Sports.

Fegan reportedly has a long standing relationship with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban which would be why he wanted his client to go there. At first Jordan accepted the four year $80 million offer from the Mavericks before having a change of heart. Jordan has since left Fegan and his other representatives at Relativity Sports saying he wanted to move "in another direction," according to Borderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times. This is the third agent Jordan has left in his seven NBA seasons.

Jordan eventually agreed to a four year $88 million deal with the Clippers and he will still have to pay four percent to Relativity Sports but he will now look to hire a new agency for his next contract negotiation. Jordan will be unable to sign with a new agent until 15 days have passed after letting Fegan go.

After Jordan had negotiated a new contract with the Clippers he was reportedly so unhappy with Fegan pushing him towards Dallas that he never even told him about his decision. At this point Jordan won't have trouble finding a new agent because of the amount of money he can bring in but he will have some explaining to do. You don't often hear about athletes firing as many agents as Jordan has and at some point you have to think it has a lot to do with him and not just the agents.
