On Saturday night police said a fan died at Turner Field after falling out of the upper deck during the matchup between the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves.

The fan, who had not been identified until this morning, was said to be in his early 60s and a Braves' season ticket holder. According to 11alive.com, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Gregory Murrey of Alpharetta. He was 60 years old.

He began heckling Yankees' slugger Alex Rodriguez in the seventh inning when he came on as a pinch hitter for starting pitcher Luis Severino. It all went wrong after that.

"According to witnesses seated in Section 401 behind home plate, the fan was screaming at Alex Rodriguez when he suddenly lost his balance and fell approximately 50 feet to the concrete below, striking a railing on the way down," Wallace Matthews of ESPNNewYork.com writes.

"There was blood left on the surface around the seats after the man was put on a backboard. A group of stadium medical personnel treated the man for about 10 minutes, applying CPR. As the medical workers worked in a circle around the man, security officers cleared the area."

Thankfully nobody else was injured in the lower level seats where the fan fell.

The Braves released a statement after they were given the official news.

"We have received confirmation that the fan involved in an accident at this evening's game has passed away. The Atlanta Braves offer their deepest condolences to the family."

The Braves have directed all inquires to the Atlanta Police Department as the investigation continues. The MLB is now monitoring the situation with the Braves.
