Ariel Winter has proudly made a huge announcement about a recent surgery she had. The 17-year-old Modern Family star opened up to Glamour Magazine for their September issue, revealing that she underwent breast reduction surgery on June 4. The surgery put her from an uncomfortable 32F to a 34D.

Every time the petite 5'1" actress would have to attend a red carpet event, she couldn't handle people staring at her "awkward growth spurt," let alone finding something to wear that she felt comfortable in.

"I definitely seemed confident; I'm an actress, that's what we do," she said. "But on the inside I wasn't feeling so happy."

Coming from a family filled with women dealing with the same problem, plenty of them having the same kind of surgery, they weren't shocked when she revealed she wanted to get breast reduction surgery also. "It really did happen overnight," she said of suddenly having huge boobs. "I remember being in my sister's wedding and being so flat and thinking, 'I just wish I would grow boobs!' and then overnight I did. But then they kept growing and growing and growing and it didn't seem like they were going to stop."

As if finding tops that fit wasn't hard enough, she was dealing with some severe pain, physically and emotionally. It got to a point where she "couldn't take the pain." She had back, neck, and spine problems and her doctor simply told her that once she got the surgery, "Your back is going to thank you so much." As if the physical pain wasn't hard enough to deal with, she couldn't help but be affected by the not-so-kind words people often had to say to her.

"There was so little that I could wear that was age-appropriate," she continued to say. "It's hard when you're a teenage girl and you already have a lot of ridicule and then you pile on more, and it's kind of...it gets too much. We live in a day and age where everything you do is ridiculed. The Internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am, and that I am disgusting."

She told her TV mom Julie Bowen about the surgery, and Bowen couldn't have been more "supportive and understanding." As for her real mom, Crystal Workman, she was never told about the surgery, before or after it happened, according to E! News. Winter is legally emancipated from her mother, and they don't speak much.

"I'm in such a happy place now, and in such a better place now surrounded by people who love me and really support me and that's all I need," she said, adding that she has no regrets about the surgery. "I feel great. It was such a quick recovery for me. The feeling of not having so much there was such a relief! I can't even explain the feeling. You just feel so relieved and excited. You feel like a new person. You feel like this is how I was supposed to be."
