Google is celebrating the fifth successful year of its fast and powerful Chrome browser by releasing a wide range of new browser apps for Windows and Chromebook users.

Google has a stake in all possible domains in the technical industry and continues to expand. As determined as Google is to invent new technologies such as  Google Glass or the self-driving technology, it has never ignored  its browsers or apps.

"Today marks the 5th birthday of Chrome, a project we started to push the web platform forward," Erik Kay, Engineering Director and Chrome App-ologist, wrote in a Google Chrome Blog. "From a humble beginning of static text, images and links, the web has grown into a rich platform teeming with interactive content and powerful applications. We've been astounded by how far the web has come and are very excited to see what developers around the world will be able to do with the new generation of Chrome Apps."

To celebrate the fifth Chrome birthday, Google is sharing a wide array of new apps for its successful browser. The web giant is unveiling what it describes as "a new kind of Chrome app" for desktops, which is much faster, powerful, secure and flexible.

The new Chrome Apps function eliminates the need to update manually, as it updates automatically and seamlessly, unless there is a permission change. Chrome will be integrated with offline working, easy cloud sharing, real-time desktop notifications, interaction with USB and Bluetooth connected devices and more. Users can simply add functions and launch directly from a new "App Launcher."

The new launcher automatically appears when users download the first Chrome App. It sits on the taskbar with loads of other apps that can be added later.

Most of the apps are highly productive in terms of auto save and proficiency. Google Keep quickly saves notes and allows quick access from the App launcher. These notes get auto-synced on every device with Chrome. Even if there is no connection, the app saves the notes and syncs later with other devices when the connection resumes.

Other apps include Pixlr Touch Up for photo editing with several options, Wunderlist to make to-do lists with voice dictation and also alerts with desktop notifications. These features work easily with Windows 7 PCs.

Google's Chrome 29 is the latest version of the browser and new versions continue to be released once in every six weeks. The new Chrome Apps are only available for Windows and Chromebook users and the company has promised to launch the same for Mac and Linux very soon.
