Officials revealed that a quarantine is in place at a Birmingham, Ala., home due to the possibility of an Ebola case.

Edward Khan of the Jefferson County Health Department says the patient, who remains unnamed, is being treated at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital after developing symptoms and notifying authorities, according to U.S. News & World Report. The six firefighters who came into contact with the patient were also taken to UAB Hospital for observation.

The patient recently traveled to a country with Ebola cases but failed to identify the country he or she travelled to or the person that the patient went to treat. The patient didn't have direct contact with anyone known to have Ebola and is considered "low risk," according to AP.

The public will be notified about the results of the patient's test on Wednesday.

Two of the patient's relatives are currently isolated after being asked by authorities to remain inside their home, according to ABC's Alabama affiliate ABC 33/40. The home is cordoned off and officers are guarding it.
