Daniel Radcliffe, the actor most famous for his portrayal of child-wizard in the 8 film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's insanely popular children's books "Harry Potter," can't seem to escape the fandom that has come with the iconic role.

At the Venice film festival, the crowd descended briefly into chaos on Sunday as a swarm of Harry Potter fans rushed the British star, who was in town to promote his new film "Kill Your Darlings." The 24-year-old actor was rushed after admirers pushed their way into the bathroom past his bodyguards during a pres conference break.

Luckily the actor seemed in good spirits about the whole ordeal.

"Thankfully, it's not always like this," he told the press conference as a crowd outside hit the walls and rattled windows trying to get in to see their wizarding hero, according to a story on Yahoo News. "I've been dealing with it in various ways since I was 11. I don't take it seriously, actually I think it's funny."

Radcliffe brought his parents with him to Venice to present "kill Your Darlings" a film by Beat Generation and John Chokidars in which he plays a young Allen Ginsberg. The role will explore themes of drug use and homosexuality.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the swirl of support behind me. My fans seem excited by the unconventional path I am taking," Radcliffe said. "I love poetry and it was fantastic to get the part and have the opportunity to dive into Ginsberg's life. The diaries he made when he was young gave me an amazing insight into his character."

Radcliffe finished the role of Harry Potter two years ago with "The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2." It appears that he has not yet reached a place of diminishing returns when it comes to support from Harry's fans, even as the actor moves on to more controversial and artistic roles.
