The New York Knicks have 13 players on their current roster that are virtual locks to make the team out of training camp. This means that they have two open spots that can either go to the most impressive guy in training camp or someone outside the organization. The Knicks have been linked to both Kevin Seraphin and Carlos Boozer as they look for a backup big man to fill one spot. The other spot is a bit more open but it was reported earlier that the Knicks were likely to give Thanasis Antetokounmpo a partially guaranteed deal and give him a chance to make the team.

The Knicks have also reportedly had discussions with Sasha Vujacic about possibly bringing him on to the team according to Pro basketball reporter David Pick. The Knicks would be able to sign Vujacic to a deal either worth the veteran's minimum or they could use their "Room" exception to sign him for a little more than $2.8 million.

Nothing is reportedly imminent between the two parties but it is certainly interesting that the Knicks have interest, given the recent news about Antetokounmpo. It is possible that the Knicks could sign Vujacic and keep Antetokounmpo by not signing a veteran big, or that the Knicks bring in Antetokounmpo to training camp with some NBA level competition in Vujacic.

Vujacic most recently played with the Istanbul BB in Turkey to finish out the 2014-15 season. He last played in the NBA in February of 2014 when had a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Vujacic has played parts of eight seasons in the NBA and was most notable as fixture on the Lakers from 2004 to 2011. Now 30 years old Vujacic is best known for his three point shooting as he is a career 37 percent long range shooter. Vujacic has averaged 5.6 points per game over his career.

If a deal materializes between the Knicks and Vujacic that could mean bad news for Antetokounmpo. Vujacic will provide outside shooting for the Knicks but not much else as there is a reason he hasn't been in the NBA for a few years.
