The family of 2-year-old Deorr Kunz Jr. has been frantically searching for the toddler since he went missing last Friday from his family's campsite outside Ladore, Idaho.

Deorr's parent's believed his grandfather was watching him at the campsite at Timber Creek Campground, but his grandfather believed he was down by the creek with his parents, according to NBC News.

"Just in a split second, your whole world is upside down and vanished," said Deorr Kunz Sr., Deorr's father.

The family originally believed that the boy wandered off, but now they believe that he was abducted and isn't on the mountain anymore, dbtechno reported.

"There's a possibility that he may be with somebody and that's what is giving us hope," said Kunz Sr. "It's a bad thing that he would be not with us right now, but it also means there's a good chance that he is alive and with somebody."

The Lemhi County Sheriff's Office hasn't commented on that possibility, and no AMBER Alert has been issued because the case does not fit the criteria needed, according to Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman.

Authorities said they've brought in police dogs to help in the ongoing search. They also brought in a specialist from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Deputies have requested that the public avoid going outside to search for Kunz Jr. since they might interfere with the dogs' ability to pick up the toddlers scent.

Officials have so far conducted a search of the 2.5-mile radius around the family's campsite but have yielded no clues.

Their best lead was exhausted on Monday when reports of a boy who fitted Kunz's description was spotted in a Walmart. Upon inspecting the surveillance video, officials concluded that the boy was not Deorr.

The boy has blonde bushy hair and was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, blue pajama pants and cowboy boots, according to Newsmax.

After nearly a week of searching, authorities report that they're returning to square one and starting the search over from scratch.
