Matt Damon is reportedly in talks with Universal Studios to reprise his role as the amnesia suffering super spy Jason Bourne, despite already giving the mantel away to Jeremy Renner.

According to Twitch, which originally reported the news, Damon would reprise his role for another installment of the adventures of Jason Bourne. Universal is also in talks with the director of "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum," Paul Greengrass. According to its sources, Damon has said he is only going to consider the project if Greengrass is on board for directing it as well. There are clearly a lot of things that need to fall into place before anything official is announced. However, it seems likely that if everything goes according to plan for the studio, fans will see another Jason Bourne movie with Damon in the lead.

Many may be wondering what this will mean for Jeremy Renner and his Aaron Cross character. According to the report, Damon playing the role again won't put a stop to any future projects involving Renner's character. In fact, the two might compliment each other and show some connectedness within the same film universe. In other words, Universal plans to continue with the Aaron Cross themed films no matter what ends up happening with Greedgrass and Damon.

Meanwhile, Damon is making the news for his possible involvement in another connected universe of films. Coming off the news that friend and long-time collaborator of Damon, Ben Affleck, will be playing the role of Batman in the upcoming sequel to this summer's "Man of Steel," many are claiming the studio is looking at Damon to fill another role in that universe. Some have said he is being seriously looked at as a potential Green Lantern character. Bryan Cranston was just found out to be playing Lex Luthor in the films for at least six movies, proving that the studio is serious about an eventual Justice League movie. You can't have the Justice League with just Batman and Superman.
