The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that filmmaking duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord will write, produce, and direct the "Star Wars Anthology" spinoff film about a young Han Solo.

The duo was attached to Warner Bros. and DC's "Flash" movie though in what specific capacity was unknown. Now it appears as if they will be exiting the project all together.

Hollywood Reporter says:

"They were to develop a Flash feature for Warners as a directing vehicle but now with the untitled Star Wars spin-off, that is likely off the table. As is a third Jump Street movie. However, they could stay on as writers or producers on those projects."

Miller and Lord are best known for the aforementioned "Jump Street" franchise as well as "The Lego Movie."

"This is the first film we've worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with," the two filmmakers said. "We promise to take risks, to give audiences a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us. This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you're late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding, but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever, in a film franchise you've loved since before you can remember having dreams at all."

This new project is not the same film that director Josh Trank ("Fantastic Four") exited a few months back amid some nasty rumors.

We'll keep you posted as more details begin to emerge.
