"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington sent the Internet into a frenzy when he was photographed at Wimbledon sporting his long Jon Snow haircut. Harrington's character Jon Snow was supposedly killed off on the season five finale of the popular HBO show, but some fans refuse to believe that he is really dead.

The actor has been adamant that his fan-favorite character is truly dead.

"I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season. So that's all I can tell you, really," Harrington told Entertainment Weekly.

The actor chopped off his character's signature long locks in January after filming on the fifth season concluded. This led fans of the show to freak out over the fate of Jon Snow, especially because Harington's Thrones contract specifically says the actor cannot cut his hair.

Filming on the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" is set to begin in July, according to the Washington Post.

Fans still believe there is hope for Jon Snow to return, especially after Entertainment Weekly asked author George RR Martin about Jon's fate.

The author replied, "Oh, you think he's dead, do you?" Since the show has finally caught up with the television series, the ultimate fate of the characters, including Jon Snow, is unknown.
