One Direction's Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards are engaged. The couple didn't confirm the news but Edwards proudly showed off a huge diamond engagement ring at the London movie premiere of "One Direction: This is Us."
Edwards looked stunning as she strolled down the red carpet in a black Patricia Bonaldi gown and strappy heels. The thing everyone was paying attention to the most was the sparkly rock sitting snuggly on her ring finger.
According to Hollywood Life, the "Best Song Ever" singer sweetly got down on one knee and popped the question to Edwards during a weekend they were "alone together."
Debbie, the Little Mix singer's mom, confirmed the engagement news to the Dorset Echo telling the British newspaper how excited she was.
"It's official. I'm over the moon. They are really in love," her mom told the newspaper adding that her daughter is really excited but didn't announce the news at the premiere because she didn't want to overshadow her man.
According to the Daily Mail, Debbie gushed about how Malik proposed to her daughter during a radio interview.
"It's wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous. It's true they got engaged on Sunday and it's absolutely lovely," she said. "Perrie loves him to pieces and it's perfect. They get on so well together and understand each other. It's just fabulous."
Malik and Edwards started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the set of the "X Factor." After a couple weeks they split but rekindled their relationship in April 2012. Their young romance took a heavy blow when a waitress came forward with claims that she had spent the night with Malik at his London home.
The "Kiss You" singer won back the 20-year-old after revealing a cartoon version of her face tattooed on his arm, the Daily Mail reports.
"She was shocked at first but loves it now," Malik said. "She thinks I'm crazy, like everyone else does. To be fair, I am a little bit crazy... I'm happy to be the crazy one of the group."
Band mates Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson also attended the event with their girlfriends.
