Bob Barry Jr., the sports director for KFOR in Oklahoma City, died in a car accident Saturday afternoon.

Barry was riding his motorcycle when another vehicle hit him. The driver of the vehicle was 26-year-old Gustavo Castillo Gutierrez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. Police said Gutierrez made an illegal U-turn in front of Barry which caused the accident, according to KJRH. Barr hit the driver's side of the car and was thrown more than 20 feet. The sports reporter was rushed to OU Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested the driver of the car for manslaughter, driving without a state license and causing an injury accident. The driver was also in possession of cocaine at the time of the incident, according to local CBS affiliate News 9.

Barry joined KFOR in 1982 as the station's weeknight sports anchor. He worked with his father, Bob Barry Sr., who was the sports director at the time.

A memorial for Barry was held Friday morning at Crossing Community Church. He was 58 years old.
