Four years ago a shocking revelation rocked the world of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his family. It was revealed that the actor and former California Governor had a secret love child with his housekeeper.

The "Terminator" star opened up to Howard Stern on Wednesday about the collapse of his marriage and his relationship with ex-wife Maria Shriver and their children.

In January 2011, it was revealed that Schwarzenegger had an affair with his maid, Mildred Baena, nearly a decade earlier and the two had a child together. The news prompted Shriver to move out of their house and file for divorce. It was reported that the divorce between the two was finalized in December 2014, but Schwarzenegger did not confirm a legal split to Stern.

The former governor of California revealed to Stern that his affair was the biggest mistake of his life.

"Without any doubt, it (his split from Shriver) was the biggest setback and the biggest failure, without a doubt," he told Stern. "I'm to blame for it, it was me who screwed up, and I can't point a finger at anyone else. So I was disappointed in it ...and so how do you now make the best of that?"

Four years later Schwarzenegger and his family are in a better place. He told Stern a story in which Shiver and their four kids sent him balloons and cards praising him as "the greatest dad." The description of how Schwarzenegger managed to stay friends with his ex and repair his relationship with his children really touched Stern, who was "moved almost to tears."
