It's not a surprise why so many people are excited for next year's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." The meeting of two of the most iconic and well known superheroes of all time is an exciting endeavor for comic book geeks and casual fans alike. But perhaps equally as intriguing is the recent report from Latino Review that claims that Ben Affleck, who will portray the Caped Crusader in the upcoming film, will also direct the next solo Batman film (rumored to be titled "The Batman") scheduled for 2018.

Affleck will reportedly be joined by "Argo" screen writer Chris Terrio for the project. Terrio also worked on the "Dawn of Justice" script and is penning both "Justice League" films, so he seems to be heavily steeped in the DC Cinematic Universe at the moment.

Warner Bros. is said to be eyeing a November release date in 2018 for "The Batman."

"Argo" was nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning three (Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Achievement in Film Editing). Affleck received deserved praise for his directorial efforts on the project, which followed his successful debut behind the camera with "Gone Baby Gone" and the box office success of "The Town."
