Retired New York Yankees baseball player and his supermodel girlfriend Hannah Davis were spotted vacationing in Italy and were caught "going Dutch."

Jeter, 40, and Davis, 25, were seen eating pizza close to the Spanish Steps in Rome. The couple split the bill on their lunch tab using both of their AmEx Black Cards (available to those who charge more than $250,000 per year), according to the New York Daily News.

The news caused a massive debate on social media about whether Jeter should have paid the bill in full or not. One Twitter user expressed disbelief at the baseball player for not paying for his girlfriend's pizza.

Another Twitter user criticized him for letting Davis pay for her own meal, despite raking up almost hundreds of millions while playing for the Yankees, according to the Huffington Post.

Throughout his entire baseball career, Jeter earned more than $400 million, according to Forbes.
