Guitarist Eddie Van Halen has some choice words for David Lee Roth and aired them publicly in a recent interview.

This week's Billboard Magazine cover story features a tell-all interview with the guitar god, where he apparently has an ax to grind with his bandmates and does so in a candid way. The interview comes weeks before the rockers are set to embark on a 40-date North American tour together, according to the New York Daily News.

"He does not want to be my friend," Van Halen says of lead singer Roth. "Roth's perception of himself is different than who he is in reality. We're not in our 20s anymore. We're in our 60s. Act like you're 60. I stopped coloring my hair, because I know I'm not going to be young again."

The differences between Van Halen and Roth are also the reason why there's a delay in new Van Halen music. "It's hard, because there are four people in this band, and three of us like rock 'n' roll. And one of us likes dance music," Van Halen told Billboard. "And that used to kind of work, but now Dave doesn't want to come to the table."

Even orignial Van Halen member and ex-bassist Michael Anthony wasn't spared from Van Halen's scathing words. "Every note Mike ever played, I had to show him how to play," Van Halen said. "Before we'd go on tour, he'd come over with a video camera and I'd have to show him how to play all the parts."

The Van Halen North American tour kicks off on July 5 in Washington at the White River Ampitheater and closes out on October 4 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl, according to Rolling Stone.
