Samsung Galaxy S4 will soon be available in a new vibrant shade of purple, but only for Sprint customers for $199.99 with a two year service contract.

Samsung Electronics is bringing its new flagship smartphone in a new shade to attract the young consumers. Sprint announced Tuesday that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will now be available in Purple Mirage, starting its online sales Friday, August 16. The U.S. carrier continues the sale of two other color variants, White Frost and Black Mist, for $199.99 with a two year service contract.

The Purple shade Galaxy S4 is likely to win the hearts of college and professional sports fans to show support for their team with the matching color, Sprint said in its community blog. The Galaxy S4 Purple is different from the one used for the Galaxy SIII in April. The new color is a little darker and subtle than the Amethyst Purple in Galaxy SIII.

The Galaxy S4, otherwise, is the same device with its high-end specs, features and sleek design. The device sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.9-GHz quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy S4 features touchless navigation, which allows customers to answer calls, read e-mails, browse gallery and change songs with hand gestures. Using the Sprint's network, the Galaxy S4 can access fast LTE speeds.

In the competitive smartphone market, will the introduction of a new color convince new customers to go for Samsung? Google gives customers a choice to customize their own device by choosing a colored back cover and also embed a name or a text on it. But like the purple Galaxy S4 is exclusive to Sprint customers, only AT&T customers will get an option to customize their Moto X smartphone. The pricing of the Moto X is the same as the Galaxy S4 on Sprint with a service contract.

Eager customers can walk in to any Sprint store and phone channels for immediate purchase and sign a new two-year contract.
