The series, which made a comeback in 2016 as a six-episode installment, is returning in the regular 10-episode format. Fans of "The X-Files" would be pleased to know that the popular science fiction TV series has been renewed for the 2017-18 season. According to Los Angeles Times, Fox network made the announcement on Thursday declaring that it has ordered a renewal of "The X-Files" and thus, fans should get ready to see their favorite stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as the FBI agents, on a mission to solve paranormal cases. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be reliving their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively. Also, "The X-Files" will see the return of creator Chris Carter who will be serving as the executive producer in the upcoming Season 11 of the show. Praising Chris, David Madden, President of Fox network, said that they cannot wait to see what fresh mysteries Scully and Mulder will be uncovering in the next chapter of "The X-Files." He also said that iconic character, bold creators and rich storytelling are the hallmarks of great TV shows and "The X-Files" could create a massive impact only because of the presence of these three factors, claimed Deadline. Well, the return of "The X-Files" has upped the excitement of fans but they will have to wait as production will begin only this summer and therefore, "The X-Files" would be either debuting in late 2017 or early 2018. It is worth mentioning here that "The X-Files" enjoyed a successful run in all its nine seasons starting from 1993 and ending in 2001. It made a comeback as a six-episode installment in 2016 and the response of the viewers was highly encouraging, with 16 million average viewers on different platforms.
